The insurance guarantees full or partial reimbursement of the value of the cargo in case of its complete destruction, theft, loss or confiscation at the border.
The insurance premium is calculated as follows:
• 1% of the invoice for goods worth up to $ 35/kg;
• 2% of the invoice for goods worth up to $55/kg;
• 3% of the invoice for goods worth up to $ 100/kg.
Calculation example:
• The cost of the product: $ 1000
• Product weight: 45 kg
• 1000 / 45 = $ 22.2/kg (less than $ 35/kg), which means that the insurance will be 1%.
• 1% of $ 1000 = $ 10 is the cost of insurance.
Important!
Insurance does not cover damage to the goods during transportation, so care must be taken to ensure proper packaging. If the product is not insured, the compensation will be $ 4/kg. The cost of $ 100/kg is the maximum insurance threshold.
The insurance premium is calculated as follows:
